Local MPs, Clive Efford and John Austin joined forces with Plumstead Common Environment Group on Saturday 3rd July as part of ‘Dog Poo Awareness Day’. Also present were members of the local police Safer Neighbourhood Team.
The MPs and Plumstead Common Environment Group volunteers carried out an inspection of the Common and placed a small flag by each pile of dog mess to highlight the scale of the problem. PCEG members were also on hand to talk to members of the public and to offer dog poo bags.
Clive Efford explained: “I hope that this initiative by the PCEG will bring home to those dog owners that allow their dogs to foul open spaces where children play and people play sports that their behaviour is antisocial and unacceptable.”
