Clive supports Help for Heroes

Clive went along to support a day of fundraising and campaigning in central Eltham on behalf of the charity Hope for Heroes. The charity offers practical support to soldiers wounded on active service.

The day’s events were organised by Keith and Lesley Alderton whose son Jake tragically lost his life whilst serving with the 36 Engineer Regiment in Afghanistan.

With street stalls and members of Jake’s regiment collecting money during the day, the event finished with a fundraising 1940s blitz-themed night at the Rising Sun pub in Eltham High Street attended by Clive, the Mayor Steve Offord and the leader of Greenwich Council Chris Roberts.

The event has raised over £6,000 with more coming in every day.
