Local school children to come up with name for new community centre for the Page Estate

The new community centre that is being built on the Page estate will be named by children from Ealdham, Henwick and Haimo Schools.

Clive winning result came from Henwich School who came up with local school children to come up with name for new community centre for the page Estate “Turning Page Across the Ages”.

The competetion was organised by Lee Abbott of the Page Estate Action Project who has been working for many years to get the new Centre on the Estate where it will provide facilities for all the community.

People soetimes ask me what I am most proud of. It is often too easy to think of the big projects that I have helped with – the Eltham Centre, getting money for new schools or the DLR and Crossrail into the Borough. But actually I am happiest when I can work with people like Lee who has done so much for her local community. I can make sure her voice and the thousands of other people up and down this constituency is heard where the decisions are made, be that in central government or in the local town hall.”
