Clive steps in to help Quaggy

Clive met with friends of Sutcliffe Park and Quaggy Waterways Action Group along with Environment Agency and council officers in Sutcliffe Park on Monday to discuss ways of improving the Quaggy as it flows though Sutcliffe Park.

“At the moment we do not seem to getting a fast-enough flow to prevent the rivers from silting up in parts. This has meant that silt has built up raising the level of the river and meaning that in parts the river almost disappears.” explained Clive.

The EA who run the flood alleviation scheme in the park have agreed to experiment with measures to increase the flow of water to make the scheme more visually attractive.
