Clive backs stronger local support for Armed Forces community

Clive Efford, MP for Eltham, has attended an event at the House of Commons to promote the creation of Community Covenants across the United Kingdom. Organised by The Royal British Legion, the event highlighted the importance of local communities getting behind the Armed Forces community in their own area and honouring the principles of the Armed Forces Covenant in practice on the ground.

Clive celebrates Kinder Scout Anniversary

Clive joined with some of his fellow MPs together with ramblers from across the country to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the mass trespass of Kinder Scout, one of the tallest peaks in the Peak District.The mass trespass led in time to the establishment of our National Parks by the 1945 government and then the historic introduction of a right to roam on uncltuivated land by the 1997 Labour Government.”I am proud both of our beautiful national parks and and the introduction of the right to roam and this is a wonderful opportunity to pay tribute to those pioneers whose bravery made this possible.”
