Clive Efford - A Strong Voice for Eltham and Plumstead

Back The Ban

Fox.jpg

Labour introduced the Hunting Act which banned fox hunting with dogs in 2004 .

David Cameron has promised his backbenchers a free vote to repeal this act and allow hunting once again.  He recently unsuccessfully tried to avoid a full debate by using Parliamentary procedure to water down the Act.

New polls show that 74 per cent of people believe fox hunting should remain illegal.  However, many Tories see this as unfinished business and will try again.

Please sign the petition below to signal you opposition to any changes in the Hunting Act.

I oppose any attempt to water down or repeal the Hunting Act 2008.

I oppose any attempt to water down or repeal the Hunting Act 2008. I am not a labour supported, and will never vote conservative until they show respect for animals.

I am horrified that after only a few weeks in office the Tories have put this at the top of their agenda. Those of us who oppose this cruelty fought long and hard to get this ban law. This must not be allowed to go backwards.

I do not like foxes, nor am I a Labour party supporter, but I am completely behind Clive Efford on this issue. Support for barbarism and pandering to the already over-privileged will surely lose Cameron more votes than he will gain.

To hunt and kill wild animals in the name of fun is shameful and unworthy of a civilised society.
