Last Friday, President Trump signed an Executive Order banning Muslims from seven countries from entering the USA.
We now know that this ban will include people already in the US. Arrests have been made in New York, including an Iraqi who acted as an interpreter for the US Army. In another, a leading young cardiovascular scientist from Iran has been unable to take up a Harvard fellowship in America.
Prime Minister Theresa May has repeatedly refused to condemn this action, saying only that “The United States is responsible for the United States policy on refugees.”
This is simply not good enough and I have co-signed the Hope Not Hate letter to the Prime Minister demanding that she speak out and condemn this hateful policy.
