Eltham Lights Up signals the start of the festive season

IMG_0076.jpgOver 5,000 local people defied the winter cold to enjoy the Eltham Lights Up festival on Thursday with local musicians, amazing floats and a lantern-lit procession up Clive joined Greenwich Mayor Norman Adams on stage to switch on Eltham’s Christmas lights.

After the event Clive said “Eltham Lights Up just gets bigger and better every year.  For me the Christmas period doesn’t start until Eltham Lights Up!  Once again local people did us all proud by turning out in their thousands.  The children in the procession put so much work into their home-made lanterns which makes the procession so wonderful.  Emergency Exit Arts did a great job as usual working with the children. Lights Up is a great way to start the festivities and to boost the local economy.
