Demelza, the hospice care for children charity, is planning to build a new children's hospice in Eltham to serve children with life-limiting conditions and their families, subject to full approval by the Demelza board of Trustees.

The Hospice is situated in the quiet calm of Bostall Woods, Abbey Wood, in South East London. It is available to residents of the London Boroughs of Greenwich and Bexley who need respite, symptom control or palliative care and for those who are suffering with a life limiting illness.

The Pleasaunce was the brainchild of former Eltham Councillor and Labour Party national executive committee member William Barefoot. It was recently restored to its former glory after a £2.7m facelift.

The Plumstead Common Environment Group works in partnership with Greenwich Council to conserve and maintain the area of Plumstead Common. In the sixteen years since its foundation it has grown to number about 150 members and has had a real influence on local environmental issues.

Formed in 1965, the Eltham Society now has nearly 600 members. As well as publishing pamphlets and books and holding lectures on the history of Eltham the society also keeps a watching brief on the physical environment of Eltham and considers ways in which it might be improved.
Founded in 1930, the New Eltham Residents' Association is a non-political association that looks upon local issues with impartiality and non allegiance.
The current chairman is Robin Clark and the President is Clive Efford MP.
As a pressure group for the residents of New Eltham it tackles local issues and concerns and liaises with local Council and Parliament.
