Notes taken on Middle Park Estate Walkabout 11th September 2009

Cleansweep
28th September GLLab initiative – Greenwich Local Labour will be on the estate for two weeks

Weeds are a big problem on the estate. A team will dig up the weeds from the pavements and kerbs

Tree covering 20mph sign at entrance to Middle Park Avenue from Court Road

Middle Park Avenue speed – scheme is being drawn up for 20mph zone to deal with speeding traffic on Middle Park Avenue

Enforcement Programme
- Tons of bulk goods were removed
- Advice needs to be sent out to residents about how to make proper arrangements for parking in front gardens and on pavements
- Parking Enforcement will deal with persistent offenders who completely block the pavement or damage the pavement where they have no crossovers. Most of the estate does not require a drop kerb so it is difficult to have a scheme that will treat everyone the same. People will be required to make proper provision for parking in their front gardens and not just park on the earth which gets churned up.

Joan Crescent
