Clive objects to development on GAA sports ground

GAA_GROUND.jpgClive has written to the Planning Inspector to ask him to reject plans to build on the GAA sports ground in Avery Hill Road.

The developers are appealing once again to the Inspector against the Council's decision to refuse them planning permission to build houses on the site.

The site has been left unused for many years and a similar application was made back in application back in 2007.  Just like now, this was turned down by the Council and was the subject of an inquiry in 2007 by the Planning Inspector. Clive gave evidence stressing that allowing the site to be built on would set a terrible precedent for the remaining sports grounds in the local area which play such an important role in the Borough.   Although the Inspector allowed the application it was eventually turned down by the planning minster.

You can see a copy of Clive's recent letter here.

If you would like to protect our local playing fields then please email the planning Inspector Mr Peter Kozak.  Full details can be found here.
