Clive has underlined his commitment for high quality for PE and sport in local schools by pledging to become a ‘School Sport Champion’.

Clive joined Olympic gold medalist Victoria Pendleton at the launch of the Youth Sport Trust “Unlocking Potential” Manifesto which is calling on the next Government to ensure every child has access to high quality PE and sport opportunities at school.

Clive explained: “I really do believe in the power of PE and school sport. The London 2012 Olympics and Paralympics showed that we are a nation of sports lovers and that sport is in our DNA. PE and school sport are also a vital tool for helping us combat the growing crisis of inactivity as they help young people stay fit and healthy.”

“This Government was handed a golden legacy on sport but unfortunately they have totally failed to build on the success of the Olympics and inspire a generation.”

“As the Shadow Minister for Sport I will continue to champion PE and school sport and promote its benefits for young people across the country as well as here in Eltham.”
