The head chef from the pub with the most nominations will be entered into a national judging process to find the Parliamentary Pub Chef of the Year. The winner will be announced at an award ceremony in the House of Commons early next year.

Pubs are vital to the local economy in every community. This award seeks to highlight the national shortage of pub chefs and is aimed at promoting the pub chef as a career option.

Clive is a long-time supporter of the pub trade and has previously been presented with the prestigious Beer Champion award by the British Beer & Pub Association (BBPA) and the Campaign for Real Ale (CAMRA) recognising his work campaigning for beer and pubs.

Launching the competition, Clive Efford said:

“Across Eltham we have an exceptional choice of pubs and this competition provides an opportunity to recognise the work of the chefs behind the great food our pubs serve.

So if you think your local serves a marvellous madras, fabulous fish and chips, tasty toad in the hole or a cracking carvery send me an email to let me know.”

Clive will be making a nomination for the best pub chef in Eltham in October – so email the name of the Eltham pub that you think serves the best grub to clive@cliveefford.org.uk by the 30th September.
