Clive has welcomed news of the latest Government u-turn on school closures in London.

Clive had written to the education minister to demand an explanation why Greenwich schools were forced to stay open whilst schools in other London boroughs were closed. Now in a major U-turn, all London primary schools are set to remain closed as Covid-19 cases continue to rise.

It comes after the minister said only on Thursday that he is “absolutely confident” there will be no further delays to school re-openings, after soaring coronavirus case rates in December forced the Government into a U-turn in pushing back the start of terms for millions of pupils.

Clive said “I am glad that the government have eventually made the right decision, but the chaos of the past few weeks of decision making was completely avoidable. We need an explanation of why the wrong decisions were made in the first place and guarantees that this won’t be repeated.”
